Business Unit Overview
Exelon Power is responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining the company's fossil and hydroelectric fleet of generating assets. Exelon Power has a presence in 15 states and Alberta, Canada, and is capable of generating more than 14,500 megawatts of power through a portfolio of 186 hydroelectric, fossil, biomass and landfill gas units, as well as 18 megawatts from two solar plants and nearly 900 megawatts across 38 wind projects. Job Description
Responsibilities
We are seeking an Maintenance Technician for our Quail run Plant, located in Odessa, Texas.
The Technician operates, performs regular preventive maintenance, troubleshoots, tests, and makes rounds taking regular readings on all power plant equipment and systems to maximize asset value. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal and State regulations and plant procedures. Valuable non-core level skills may be in the area of administrative, mechanical, instrumentation and control, and/or electrical maintenance skills. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Participate in operator training and continuing training.
- Manage preventive maintenance tasks and records preventive maintenance activities.
- Train and develop other employees in performing preventive maintenance and routine equipment service activities. Practice situational leadership, safety, and environmental stewardship.
- Lead equipment or system problem identification and recommend solutions.
- Develop operating procedures for plant equipment to ensure consistent and safe operation.
- Ensure that appropriate safety procedures are followed.
- Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications
-Control room operating experience preferred
- Successful completion of the EEI Tech test.
- Strong aptitude in math, mechanical/electrical ability and production control.
- Hands on experience with all aspects of power plant operations and maintenance including mechanical maintenance, instrument and electrical systems, and a working knowledge of power cycles is a plus.
- Ability to work in a high performance work system and work rotating 12 hour shifts and overtime with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication and team skills and a working knowledge of Excel and PC based applications.
- High School graduate.
