Exelon is currently seeking a Principal Financial Analyst for its PECO Energy Subsidiary in Philadelphia. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the following: Principal Financial Analyst, Finance provides financial support and oversight to Technical Services and Support Services departments. Coordinates the financial planning, analysis and management reporting processes associated with operations and maintenance (O&M) and capital expenditures. Responsible for long-range financial plan, annual budget, year-end forecasts, monthly close, variance analysis, and compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual management reports as well as various ad hoc requests. Performs business unit accounting, monthly close and financial analysis and acts as a conduit for information flow between business unit departments, PECO FP&A, Accounting and Investment Strategy. Responsible for continuous communication and coordination with Technical Services and Support Services management teams to ensure the quality of financial management and forecasting. Provide reliable, relevant and timely financial and operating performance information and analysis for management decision making and business and regulatory strategy development. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Manage and coordinate for the assigned organizations the following processes with respect to O&M and capital expenditures: · Long range financial planning · Annual budgeting, including alignment with Investment Strategy and work plans · Monthly financial forecasting and analysis, coordination with Operations Management and Investment Strategy regarding forecasting · Analyses of O&M and capital expenditure results, including monthly variance analysis of forecasted and actual results to budget, forecast and prior year results. · Monthly report out of financial results to VP of Technical Services and VP of Support Services · Partner with local Directors/Managers to provide guidance and direction related to financial matters and decision-making. Ensure alignment between corporate financial and local organizational goals. · Provide ad-hoc support to request for business analysis, process improvement efforts etc. 2. Provides accounting services, including reviewing and approving of journal entries, maintaining and controlling physical records, and analyzing and approving the reconciliation of general and subsidiary ledger accounts. Assists in technical accounting and reporting research activities. 3. Provide leadership and guidance in the proper application of accounting rules and standards within Corporate Support. 4. Provide supervision, coaching and professional development for staff of 3 analysts. 5. Support maintenance of formal, standardized processes and controls for each key responsibility. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Minimum:Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business 8 - 10 years relevant experience such as strategy, business planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, variance analysis and business modeling experienceDemonstrated ability to gather, organize, analyze, interpret and communicate data in an understandable and meaningful manner to help facilitate business strategy and decision making and performance improvements. Demonstrated experience in facilitating efficient/effective information exchanges between cross-functional teams and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.Good team building and staff coaching, mentoring and professional development capabilities. This position requires use of a personal vehicle. All employees using personal vehicles for work purposes must have a valid driver's license and use of an insured vehicle.Preferred:MBAExcellent analytical and computer skills. Utility Experience POSITION SCOPE · Perform planning, budgeting, review journal entries and account reconciliations. Provide analysis and financial reporting. · Daily interaction with Vice Presidents, Directors, Department Heads, FP&A, Accounting, Investment Strategy and Staff. · Position involves supervision of 3 direct reports that are local or remote.
