Job Description
The DSO team is currently looking for a candidate to fill the position of Power Quality Technician. Interviews will be conducted and the positions will be filled on a best-qualified basis. We are looking for someone with a willingness to learn a new role in a fast paced, high profile assignment. The successful candidate will retain their title of Aerial Lineman First Class, position on the line mechanic seniority list and current rate of pay. Job Responsibilities include:
--Investigate jobs relating to power quality problems and radio/TV interference complaints from industrial, commercial, or residential customers.
--Meet with customers or their representatives to investigate their complaints concerning electric service. Determine if complaint is supply side (PECO) or internal (customer problem).
-- Correct or recommend solutions if supply side or assist customer in identifying and correcting problem if internal.
--Prioritize and schedule work
--Select and operate specialized Testing Equipment
--Interpret data obtained from data recorders and PECO distribution monitoring systems and provide cost effective solutions to correct PECO system problems and customer problems.
Position Requirements:
--First class line mechanic with at least 2 years at the journey level, working on aerial or underground at all voltages.
--Ability to work overtime, storm work and the ability to work shift work if needed. - High school diploma or equivalent
--Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with customers both internally and externally.--Valid drivers license, CDL, and access to an insured vehicle Preferred:Demonstrated ability to access mainframe and P.C. data.
--Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously. - Highly motivated, self-starter.
--A working knowledge of Capacitors and Voltage Regulators.
--A working knowledge of reclosers, circuit loading and configuration.
--Associates degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline
--Interpersonal skills ' Teamwork - Computer experience (Microsoft Office)
--Knowledge of Passport System. Ability to learn how to create Work Orders (W/O) and Work Requests (W/R)
